Get Involved

The role of an ally is to get together with others for social change. We should not and cannot do it alone. Alone, we only become isolated, marginalized, ineffective, and burned-out. Together we can accomplish a lot and support each other in the process. There are probably already many groups in your area working on a wide variety of issues. The list below is neither exhaustive nor representative. There are tens of thousands of such groups around the country. These groups can give you an idea of the range of creative and powerful social justice organizing that is happening and lead you to many avenues of participation. Some are national organizations with local chapters, others are local, regional, or specific state focused. A handful are Internet based, but in the long term clicking buttons on your computer is no substitute for building relationships in your community and working side-by-side with others for justice. I strongly encourage you to check out these groups, look around for more in your community and areas of interest, choose one, and get involved in what they are doing.

If you know of an organization that should be listed here, please let us know.
